About us
Namibia Institute of Pathology Limited was established as a state-owned commercial entity in August 2000 and started operations on 1 December 2000, with the objective of providing medical laboratory services to health facilities in Namibia.
At inception, NIP took over 23 laboratories from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) and has managed to open another 17 laboratories, bringing the total number of functional laboratories to 40. This has allowed NIP to expand its services both geographically and in terms of test repertoire.
NIP is the largest diagnostic pathology service provider in Namibia and employs over 450 employees. It handles all public health sector pathology testing and provides an extensive array of disease monitoring services.
