The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), is Implementing Energy Partnership (EP) in Namibia. This Project Aims to Support Namibia’s Transformation Into a Global Leader in Green Hydrogen Production, Fostering a Sustainable and Inclusive Energy Transition.
GIZ Namibia is Seeking the Services of a Qualified and Experienced Consultant. the Objective is to Design and Implement Consulting Services for a National Landscape Analysis, Including the Mapping of Tsau //khaeb National Park and Capacity-Building for Conservation Officers.
KEY SERVICES INCLUDE:
• Conducting Biodiversity Mapping and Research within the Tsau //Khaeb National Park
• Conduct a Desktop Study on International Benchmarking and Scientific Guidelines for Defining Biodiversity Sensitive Zones and Determining Ecological Vulnerability
• Co-Develop Practical Implementation Strategies Together with the MEFT and Other Key Sector Stakeholders on How the Biodiversity Monitoring Framework Can Be Implemented for Managing Impacts on Vegetation, Soil, Climate, and Potentially Ecosystem Processes Within the TKNP
• Providing Knowledge Transfer and Capacity-Building Support to Enhance the Skills of Local Conservation Officers and Stakeholders
ELIGIBILITY:
This Opportunity Is Available to Local Consultants with Demonstrated Expertise in Biodiversity Mapping and Environmental Management. Applicants Should Possess Extensive Knowledge of Namibia’s Biodiversity, Particularly with Respect to the Sperrgebiet Environment. Ideal Candidates Will Have a Proven Track Record in Executing Similar Projects and a Comprehensive Understanding of the Local and Regional Ecological and Socio-Economic Dynamics in Namibia.
