The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform (MAWLR), Hereby Invites Applicants with the Relevant Qualifications, Experience and Requirements as Listed Below, to Apply for Board Membership of the Karakul Board of Namibia (KBN).
DESCRIPTION: Invitation of Applications for Board Members to the Karakul Board of Namibia in Terms of Section 8 of the Public Enterprises Governance Act 2019, (Act No. 1 of 2019)
- The Objective of the KBN Is to Promote the Interests of the Karakul Industry and the Wool Industry in Namibia and Elsewhere.
- The Term of Office of the Current Members of the KBN Will Expired in Due Course.
- Therefore, in Line with Section 8, Subsections (1)-(4) of the Public Enterprises Governance Act, (Act No. 1 of 2019), the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform Hereby Invites all Namibian Applicants who are Appropriately Skilled, Qualified, and Committed to Apply as Potential Candidates for the KBN Board of Directors. The Term of the Board Shall Be Three (3) Years from the Date of Appointment.
- Interested Candidates Are Hereby Requested to Submit Written Applications Containing the Below. Furthermore, Additional Information that Demonstrates the Candidate’s Specific Expertise Will Be Appreciated.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
6.1 Experience 10 Years’ Industry Experience in Any of the Following Fields is Required.
• Processing
• Marketing
• Producers
• Traders in Processed Karakul and Pelts Products
• Consumers
• Financial Experts
• HR Expert
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics/ Agricultural Economics/ Veterinary Science/ Agriculture/ Animal Science/ International Trade/ Commerce/ Marketing.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Applicant has to Be a Namibian Citizen and Permanently Residing in Namibia.
• Applicant must Not Be a Member of the Board of Any 2 Public Enterprises
• Applicant must Not Have a Criminal Record
• Applicant must Not Be Disqualified from Being Appointed as a Member in Terms of Section 8 (2) of the Public Enterprises Governance Act No 1 of 2019
- Previous Experience of Having Served on Boards of Directors Will Be an Added Advantage.
- Persons who Currently Serve on Two (2) Boards of Any Public Enterprises Will Not Be Considered.
- Shortlisted Candidates will Be Interviewed, and Successful Candidates Will Be Recommended for Appointment.
