EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
The Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME) is Seeking Expression of Interest from Suitably Qualified and Experienced Namibians, to Serve as Members of the MIME Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) for a Three (3) Year Term from the Date of Appointment.
DESCRIPTION: Appointment of Independent Audit and Risk Committee
ROLE OF THE AUDIT COMMITTEE
The Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) is an Independent Advisory Committee to be Established in Accordance with the Public Sector Internal Audit Policy. The Primary Objective of the ARC is to Provide Independent Oversight, Assurance, and Assistance to the MIME in the Effective Conduct of its Responsibilities Over the Governance, Risk Management, Control Environment and Overseeing the Internal Audit Function.
REQUIREMENTS
• A Relevant Degree or Equivalent Qualification at NQF Level 7 in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Commerce, Risk Management, Performance Management, Law or IT, Administration and must not be Employed the Ministry, or Seconded/Parastatal(s) of the Ministry in the Past 12 (Twelve) Months.
• Must have At Least Nine (9) Years of Working Experience in Offices, Ministries and Agencies of the Government (OMAs/RCs/LACs) in the Above-Mentioned Fields or At Least Three (3) Years of Experience Serving as a Member of an Audit and Risk Committee in the Public or Private Sector.
• Applicants from Private and Parastatal Institutions are Also Highly Encouraged to Apply.
• Applicants must be Based in the Khomas Region.
• Applicants Must Have at Least Three (3) Years Experience at Management Level or Higher Within a Public Institution or Similar Organization.
• Strong Communication Skills, High Level of Personal Code of Ethics, Experience and Knowledge of Financial Literacy, Internal Control, Corporate Governance and High Degree of Confidentiality.
• Professional Certification such as CIA, IAP, CISA, CA will be Regarded as an Advantage.
• Successfully Selected Members of the Audit Committee Must Not Serve Concurrently on More than Two Committees Including the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME).
INDEPENDENCE: Applicant Must Be Independent from MIME Staff Members to Ensure Impartial Oversight.
COMPENSATION: Compensation Will Be as Per Approved Revised Payment Structure for Audit Committees.

Foreign Qualifications Must Be Accompanied by an Evaluation Report from Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA).
