Nam-mic Financial Services
The Namibia Mineworkers Investment Holding Company (Pty) Ltd (“Nam-mic Holding”) was established in 1997 as a Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment company owned by the Mineworkers Union of Namibia through the Namibia Mines Investment Trust.
The vision was to facilitate for the participation of previously disadvantaged Namibians in the mainstream economy. Today Nam-mic Holding holds a diversified portfolio of investments in financial services, property and infrastructure development, engineering, mining, medical aid, communication, travel and transportation, and catering.
Some of the assets owned by Nam-mic Holding include Nam-mic Financial Services which has investments in a number of local blue chip financial services entities which includes: Nam-mic Financial Services, Welwitschia Nam-mic Insurance Brokers, Sanlam Namibia Holdings, Santam Namibia and Capricorn Asset Management.
Other investments in the Nam-mic portfolio include Jowells Transport, Avis, and EVI Mining. EVI Mining Company is a partner in Otjikoto Gold Project with B2gold Corporation, a Canadian mining company which has a secondary listing on the Namibia Stock Exchange.
