1. What is the Central Bidder Database?
The Central Bidder Database is a comprehensive registry of pre-qualified bidders, designed to streamline and enhance the procurement process in Namibia by providing procuring entities with quick access to credible and vetted business profiles.
2. What are the benefits of registering on the Central Bidder Database?
Registering on the Central Bidder Database increases your visibility to potential buyers, provides access to numerous tender opportunities, and ensures that your company information is accessible to both public and private sector buyers.
3. Will I be guaranteed to get contracts if I sign up?
While registering on the Central Bidder Database increases your visibility and credibility, it does not guarantee that you will secure contracts. It enhances your chances by ensuring your profile is seen by multiple procuring entities.
4. How do I know how many profiles I have to post?
You can choose the number of business categories you want to be listed under. Each business category requires a separate profile submission. For example, if your company provides both cleaning services and security services, you will need to submit separate profiles for each, as the experience in guarding services cannot be used for cleaning services. However, related services within the same category can be posted under one profile.
The fees for submitting profiles are structured as follows:
One Category: N$350
Three Categories: N$600
Ten Categories: N$1200
5. Will the government be using this platform?
There is no official agreement with the government yet, but we will make the database available to them. This is the first step in our effort to transform how government procures.
6. How often should I update my profile?
You should update your profile regularly to ensure it remains accurate and current. Each profile lasts for 12 months, and you can refresh your profile as you obtain new documents or additional references.
7. Why can I not use the same account to receive tender alerts?
One user account can only maintain one package. If you use the existing account to procure the profile listing package, you will lose the current package and vice versa. Therefore, you need to use two separate accounts (using two separate emails) to maintain both services.
8. What documents are required to submit my profile?
You will need to provide various documents, including:
Business registration document from BIPA
Identity documents of all company owners
Tax Registration certificate from NamRA
Registration as an Employer with the Social Security Commission and a current list of employees
Affirmative Action Compliance certificate
Other documents as specified in the Full List of Required Documents.
